Set of activities 2007/2008

In October 2007 3 members of the club and SI club from Petrozavodsk visited town Harstad in Norway. They visited the monument to Russian prisoners-of-war died in Norwegian camps, bringing the memorial wreath to it. The members of Norwegian club organized charity lottery to sell the items made by disabled people from St.Petersburg and raised money to support the projects of Clubs from St.Petersburg and Petrozavodsk. This visit experience helped our club organize lessons in painting for patients in phsychoneurologic dispensary with talented artist Anver as a teacher. The Club bought paints, brushes, paper for these lessons. As a result of this project the exhibition “Hearty painters” was organized attracting great public attention.

In October 2007 the Club members organized a cultural programme for the representative of Dutch club Rie Millecamp with her daughter: excursions to the places of interest in the city and suburbs and visits to museums.

In November 2007 there was a meeting of the representatives of St.Petersburg, Novgorod and Petrozavodsk SI clubs with Mariet Verhof-Vohen and Ulla Madsen, where we discussed the clubs problems and projects.

In March 2008 the Club members organized a cultural programme for 2nd Vice-president SIE Nilgun Ozler – visit to the museum of micro miniature “Russian left-hander” and Marina Sedova’s hat salon. At the meeting with Club members the questions of extension and problems of the Club were discussed.

During the year coordinator of the programme International Goodwill and Understanding Nelly Fyodorova corresponded to the clubs Lahti(Finland), Wuuppertal (Germany), Rotterdam (Holland), Roma Tre (Italy), Bangor(Northern Ireland), Mantua (Italy).

In July 2008 the Club President was a participant of the meeting of European Single Clubs in Warsaw.

In August 2008 a group of Belgian soroptimists visited St.Petersburg with Patricia Chambeau as organizer. They took part in excursion round the city, water excursion, visited the Hermitage, the Russian Museum, the Peter and Paul Fortress, Petrodvorets and its fountains. We had a meeting where Patricia handed the money gained by her club to support charity projects of our Club. They also visited the orphanage and presented their gifts to children - sets for creative activities, developing games, special vitamins for children of different ages. We exchanged our opinions about future cooperation.
